It is sad to report that our Casper is not with us anymore. He had slowly become almost blind, almost deaf and could not smell. He did not, however, seem to be in pain so we continued to feed, pet, and love him. Then...one afternoon Peg asked me if I had seen Casper and we began to look in all of his "places" and could not find him. We looked inside in every nook and cranny as well as outside the mall. We traveled the roads and driveways around the mall and still could not find him. We believe that he slipped out of the mall as a customer left and found a peaceful place to die. Our only hope is that he died quickly and did not suffer. We had Casper over 14 years, enjoying him as a "member of our family".
Those of you who have visited the mall will, of course, remember Betty Brown, shown in the first picture. It is a sad thing to report that Betty left her cancer-ridden body on September 21, 2011 for a better body in a mansion in Heaven. She will be so sadly missed by all who ever knew her.....She was such a great person and will be missed by so many!!!
